Alethea Adsitt, DPT

Physical Therapist

Alethea Adsitt received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York and holds a BFA in Dance from Cornish College in Seattle, Washington. Alethea had her first career performing, choreographing and teaching dance in Seattle and New York City. She has a clinical specialty in treating dancers, performing artists, athletes and children. Ms. Adsitt has advanced training in foot and ankle injuries and treated Off-Broadway performers and professional ballet and modern dancers in NYC. Alethea received the NYC DOE scholar’s award and treated preschool, school-aged children and babies to address a host of pediatric conditions.

As a mother of a 4 year-old, she has an interest in treating pre and post-natal instability and injuries. Her approach to core stabilization is Pilates-based and she utilizes an holistic approach to the rehabilitation of movement dysfunction. Alethea relies on evidence-based practices in the diagnosis and management of complex musculoskeletal and neurological disorders, with advanced training in manual therapy skills including NAOIMT and Institute of Physical Art continuing education courses. Alethea is experienced in post-surgical rehabilitation including joint replacements and spinal surgery. Alethea views herself as a collaborator in helping her patients find freedom from pain and injury and to help them attain their personal functional movement goals, whatever they may be.

Whenever possible, Alethea enjoys rock climbing, hiking, yoga, playing guitar and dancing with her very active daughter.
